Christmas 2025 Shipping Deadlines in Chile
If you don't ship on time for Christmas, the discount you gave was for nothing.
Every year the same thing happens: stores sell well in November and December but lose customers because the order didn't arrive before the 25th. In ecommerce, a gift that arrives on December 26 is a return.
These are the dates you need to keep in mind if you ship within Chile.
When Should You Stop Promising Delivery Before Christmas?
Exact dates depend on your carrier, but as a general reference for 2025:
| Destination | Last Shipping Date |
|---|---|
| Santiago (Capital Region) | Monday, December 22 |
| Central Regions (V, VI, VII, VIII) | Friday, December 19 |
| Northern and Southern Regions (I–IV, IX–XII) | Wednesday, December 17 |
| Remote Areas (Arica, Punta Arenas, Aysen) | Friday, December 12 |
Important: These are approximate dates for shipping from your warehouse, not final delivery dates. Always confirm actual transit times with your carrier, because volumes spike in December and delivery windows stretch.
How to Communicate This in Your Store
- Add a visible banner on your homepage and in the cart. Something like: "Order before [date] to receive by Christmas."
- Update your shipping options. If a customer orders on December 20 for a remote city, don't show "standard shipping 3–5 days" as if it's going to arrive on the 23rd.
- Offer store pickup or pickup points as an alternative for last-minute purchases.
- Be honest. If the cutoff date has passed, say so. "This order will arrive after Christmas" is better than an unpleasant surprise.
What About Post-Christmas Returns?
Prepare for a spike in returns during the first week of January. Have your policy clear and visible:
- Return window. Chilean law requires a minimum of 10 days for new products. Many stores extend to 30 days during the holiday season. That builds trust.
- Simple process. If returning is complicated, the customer won't come back. Ever.
- Exchanges vs. returns. Encourage exchanges over refunds. Offer free shipping on exchanges and you retain the sale.
Holiday logistics is about planning, not luck. The business that communicates clear dates, meets deadlines, and handles returns well is the one that earns repeat customers in January.
